On Wednesday, SovEcon (Andrey Sizov) lowered its forecast for 2024 Russian wheat production by 7.2 million metric tons to 85.7 million, anticipating a crop 1 million below the five-year average. The revision was made due to weather anomalies in Central and Southern Russia.


The Russian government reported that May frosts killed crops on about 830,000 hectares, about 1% of the total area.
