That news slammed the U.S. dollar lower by 1.28 and gave world stock markets a boost on Monday.
The World Economic Forum was founded by Klaus Schwab 24 January 1971. It describes itself as an international advocacy non-governmental organization and think tank. Its stated purpose is to influence global agendas, decision making, and lobbying for public-private cooperation. It is funded by more than 130 nations and more than a thousand multinational companies.
Donald Trump will deliver a special address at the World Economic Forum on Thursday via a video conference. He will discuss tariffs on China and EU, conflicts in the Middle East and Eastern Europe among other topics less important to agriculture.
