There is a rising tide of protectionism threatening to become a full-blown trade war between China and Europe, the head of a European business lobby group warned Friday.

 

Biden’s threat to raise tariffs on Chinese products this past week is bringing the world a step closer to a trade war. On Friday, China slapped a 43.5% tariff beginning immediately on imports of propionic acid from the US widely used in food, feed, pesticides and medical fields, amid heightened tensions.
