Reuters reported Mexico committed 10,000 National Guard members to reinforce its northern border and curb illegal drug trafficking.
Trump’s demands for Mexico:
Balance trade between Mexico and the United States.
Prevent illegal immigration to the United States from Mexico.
Stop the flow of fentanyl from Mexico to the United States.
The agreement also includes a U.S. pledge to help prevent the trafficking of high-powered weapons into Mexico.
After the market closed yesterday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced he had spoken with President Trump twice yesterday resulting in the Trump tariffs postponed by 30 days as the two countries negotiate a border deal. Canada agreed to deploy new technology and personnel along its border with the United States and launch cooperative efforts to fight organized crime, fentanyl smuggling and money laundering.
