A US Navy vessel is being fired upon almost every day now in the Red Sea area.

 

LanzaJet is a leading sustainable fuels technology company. As a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) technology provider and producer of alcohol-to-jet (ATJ) technology, LanzaJet is accelerating the deployment of SAF. Lanzajet opened their Freedom Pines Fuels facility, the world’s first ethanol-based alcohol-to-jet sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) commercial production plant in Soperton, Georgia on Wednesday. This plant makes SAF from corn ethanol, not soybean oil. You can read all about it out:

 

LanzaJet was in a race to open the first corn ethanol-to-SAF plant in the US. ADM and Gevo have a joint venture project under construction near Decatur, Illinois and Gevo has another ethanol to SAF plant under construction near Lake Preston, South Dakota. The last we heard, it takes 9 gallons of ethanol to make 5 gallons of SAF. That will take a lot of corn to make SAF.
